Heathkit H-88 All-in-One Computer

H88

The Heathkit H-88 shares many of the same internal parts as the H-89. It lacked the internal floppy drive and floppy drive controller, instead the H88 contains a cassette interface card. The H88 was only available in kit-form.

Heath Company offered a Cassette Operating System for the computer.

Although the H88 started without a floppy disk system, it was easy to upgrade the computer to include a disk controller and disk drive. Any of the disk controllers could be added  (H-88-1 hard-sectored controller, Z-89-37 soft-sectored controller, Z-89-47 8" floppy controller, Z-89-67 Winchester controller, or any of the many 3rd party add-on disk controllers).
